A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Brooke! I have lots of experience with kids and have 5 younger siblings myself. I am 18 years old and homeschooled. (Senior this year). I have helped in nurseries and other childcares and have experience with newborns on up, especially toddlers ages 2/3 and 5/6 year olds. I am also willing to watch your pets as well if needed, i have experience with animal caretaking as well. I love kids and animals. I am willing to get cpr certified or whatever needed to assure you that I am capable of watching/taking care of your kids. I have a little bit of experience with special needs, but i love them just the same, and if given a good layout of instructions i am also capable of caring for them. I am ADHD, which does put me on the neurodivergent realm, and this has helped me to relate and understand certain situations with overstimulation and sensory input. Being homeschooled i also have a pretty flexible schedule and am used to being around lots of kids!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered in my church’s childcare for four years, and have also worked in nurseries 2 years once a week for my homeschool campus! I love kids of all ages and have experience with newborns on up. I have 5 siblings and have experience from them as well. I have helped with all stages of life! I also love animals whether it be cats, dogs, guinea pigs, bunnies, fish, even mice or reptilians. (no snakes, i am terrified of snakes). I will watch your kids even if you do happen to have snakes, but i personally cannot take of them and do not want them out around the house when i am there. They are cool creatures but i prefer to admire them from a distance lol. The same goes with spiders.. i have been in situations with those creatures, and have freinds that own them, but i have learned that im not the biggest fan.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I can do all sorts of activities with your kids! I love playing games, doing crafts, puppet shows, reading books, puzzles, adventures to the park, riding bikes etc. whatever age they are i know all sorts of fun activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have experience with all stages of life, i can change diapers, do laundry, take care of pets etc. i think an important aspect of being a nanny is to be versatile and ask questions. I can watch and care for your children and i can also care for your pets. Give me a list or specific instructions if needed and we will have a blast. I will of course follow the rules of your house and will always ask before starting my babysitting/nannying what your choice of discipline is and what i am allowed to do and not do when it comes to correcting behavior. I will never spank or take privileges away unless i am told specifically. This may sound strange to mention discipline, but i am watching and caring for your children. Having 5 younger siblings myself, i know that little kids especially can sometimes be out of hand. I ask becuase I would never want to implement any rules or form of discipline for tantrums, or out of control behaviors that you as the parents wouldn't do yourselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite babysitting/childcare moments was with two siblings of a family freind. I had the younger one on my back and we pretended to be a giant trying to capture the other sibling. I will never forget the pure joy and giggles of those kids.
