A little bit about me

Hello my name is Brooklyn Pryor & I am 18 years old & just moved to Lansing for college! I am going to college to further become a behavioral specialist in an elementary school & I grew a deep passion working with kids over the last two years I was in High School, I was in the Education Academy class at the Career Center in Battle Creek & I had the opportunity to work with grades K-5 4 days a week in the classroom! While being in the Education Academy class I was able to learn a wide range of skills from basic problem solving skills all the way to a basic first aid/CPR certificate! My passion for working with kids is still just as strong & I feel like babysitting would be a lot more efficient towards my career vs a basic 9-5 waitressing job etc. I also have 3 younger siblings I have been looking after since 2015 so the experience is definitely there!!

My experience with special needs children...

I volunteered at Dorris Klaussen elementary in Battle Creek for two months and had the opportunity to put together 2 lesson plans one of which involved thanksgiving crafts (weaving place mats, Styrofoam turkeys, and finger paint) and the other lesson planned involved Christmas crafts such as (diy snow globes, coloring sheets and much more!!) I also would go outside with the students and walk around the track or push students around the track in wheelchairs!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Overall everyday is a great nanny moment for me! I love being a nanny/sitter because I do not have to sit in a cubicle all day, I get to chase after kiddos and stay fit and active and have fun!!
