Hi! I’m Brooklyn! I’m a fun, caring, and responsible babysitter who loves spending time with kiddos! I was a lifeguard with the City of Grand Junction for four years, so safety and supervision are very important to me. I’m also First Aid and CPR certified! I’m currently attending CMU and working toward my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with the goal of becoming a third-grade teacher. I love keeping kids active and engaged through crafts, games, reading, outdoor play, and other fun activities. I’m also big on limiting screen time and finding creative ways to keep kids entertained! Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 7 years of experience babysitting children of various ages. I also taught swim lessons for 4 years through the City of Grand Junction and currently teach swim lessons at CMU. Through these experiences, I’ve worked with children with different personalities, ages, abilities, and comfort levels. I love creating a fun, positive, and safe environment where kids feel comfortable and supported.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing activities that keep kids engaged, active, and having fun! Some of my favorites are playing outside, going on walks, swimming, arts and crafts, reading, playing games, building with Legos, baking and cooking is a BIG one with me, and coming up with fun activities based on their interests. I also enjoy helping with homework and finding creative ways to have fun without relying on screens.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, trusting, and positive environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. After over 7 years of babysitting and 4 years of teaching swim lessons, I’ve learned that every child is different and deserves patience, understanding, and individualized care. My experience working with autistic children has taught me to be flexible and creative with activities while respecting each child’s needs and communication style. I also believe in keeping kids engaged through play, reading, crafts, outdoor activities, and exploring their interests rather than relying on screens. As an Elementary Education student and future teacher, I want to help children feel supported, confident, and excited to learn and grow.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for a family with two autistic children. This experience taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and recognizing that every child has their own individual needs, communication styles, interests, and ways of engaging with the world. I learned to adapt activities around what each child enjoyed and felt comfortable with rather than expecting them to participate in a specific way. I also focused on creating a supportive, respectful, and comfortable environment where they could be themselves. This experience strengthened my ability to listen, observe, communicate, and adapt my approach to support each child as an individual.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments while babysitting was with a 6-year-old girl I cared for. We decided to bake together, and she wanted to be involved in every single step. She helped measure the ingredients, mix everything together, and patiently waited while they baked. When we finally pulled them out of the oven, her whole face lit up with excitement. She was so proud because she had helped create something completely on her own. Watching how happy and proud she was of what she had made reminded me how special it is to give children opportunities to explore, create, and feel proud of themselves. It’s a moment I’ll always remember because her excitement was absolutely contagious!
