I have always babysat growing up here and there, however a couple summers ago I worked as a nanny for my aunt and watched her 4 boys all under 8 every week day, and I realized how much I loved watching them and helping them grow!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely love doing all sorts of things with children. I am a big fan of imagination and playing 'house' or 'kitchen' with kids. I love baking with kids, cause even though it can be a mess sometimes I feel that the messes can be cleaned but the memories will stay forever. I love playing outside with kids on swings or trampolines.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me the most important part is listening and paying attention to the family's needs, every family is different and they all need different things. Some family's will need someone who can help keep the kids accountable for their actions, other family's will need someone who will help the kids know that mistakes happen and it's okay when they do. Keeping a look out for the individual needs is upmost important.
My experience with special needs children...
I don't necessarily have experience with special needs children but I worked as a cna for 2 years in a nursing home. While the experience is not directly for special needs kids and lot of the elderly had special needs and I worked with them regularly.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A little boy I was sitting for whenever I would ask him a question he would say yes very quietly like it was a secret and it was the cutest thing! Like I would say do you want a snack, and he would whisper yes so quietly.
