A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Brooklynn, I'm nineteen years old and just moved to Gainesville from the panhandle for college! I'm a first-year student at UF, but I dual enrolled in high school so I have over 60 college credits. I worked in a daycare in my hometown with children from ages 3 months to 8 years old. I love children my degree is in psychology with a specialization in behavior analysis, I am working towards becoming a board-certified behavior analyst and working with autistic and special needs children. I have over 40 hours of DCF training and over a year of daycare experience and working in classes with 7-17 children to a 1 teacher ratio. I'm very experienced in working with children of all backgrounds, ages, and personalities. I'm very involved in school and with my sorority (Alpha Delta Pi), but I still have a good amount of weekday and weekend availability. I'm very open-minded, respectful, and responsible. I'm looking forward to working with flexible, understanding and kind families!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a daycare for a year with children ages three months to 8 years old I also have a younger brother who is 16 years old. At the daycare I worked with children of all backgrounds it is actually where I discovered my passion to work with children with special needs (more specifically autism) and my desire to work in speech pathology or behavioral therapy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing crafts, going to a park, watching a child's favorite show, or finding fun creative learning activities. I also like to find events for kids in the community that we could attend if a parent is comfortable with me taking their child out to something like a book reading at a library, trick or treating/ a fun Halloween event, or a movie. Mostly I want to do activities that each individual child would like whether that's going out or staying in, painting or playing outside, having a tea party or playing with Legos, its up to you and your child!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure a child feels understood, respected, safe, and cared for.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children sadly only in limited settings. At my daycare I worked with 3 children with autism in group class settings. They all were about a level 2-3. I'm no expert but I am open to working with children with special needs one on one because ultimately that is the demographic I hope to be working with after graduate school. You can never have enough experience with children with special needs, it differs from child to child, and I understand that, and I also understand that working with any child means learning that child and their wants, needs, and routines. I'm very patient and understanding and open to working with children of all backgrounds.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I haven't gotten to be a nanny yet but one of my favorite daycare teacher moments was definitely doing a watercolor craft with my class of two-year-olds and watching them be creative and explore the new art method and then running around trying to clean everyone off. I think crafts of any kind are just always really special to me.

Arielle L. - Seeking Work in Gainesville

Babysitter Available in Gainesville, FL: Arielle L.

My name is Arielle, I'm 20 years old, and I am a junior in college. I am currently earning my BA in Criminal Justice, and plan to go to law school after college, following in the footsteps of my Mom! I have had a stable job at Chick-Fil-A Archer Road (as their Drive Thru Director) since high school, but I am looking for something new yet familiar! I have a lot of siblings ( 7 in total, some full, half, and step siblings, most of them younger) and genuinely love caring for, hanging out, and bonding with children. I love cooking, baking, reading, spending time with my family, music, and travel! At 16, I had to opportunity to babysit a 1 year old until he was about 4. I did so at least twice a month but sometimes multiple days a week! My favorite thing about kids is their genuine curiosity and questions about the world around them! I love finding fun and different ways to explain or approach the newness kids encounter almost every day in their environment.
