More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up in a large family with 8 siblings, so I've always been surrounded by children and learned early on how to care for them. Throughout my life, I’ve gained experience babysitting for family and friends, and I’ve also worked as a substitute dance teacher and an adaptive dance mentor for children with special needs. Additionally, I volunteered as a peer tutor in high school, helping teens with special needs. These experiences have taught me how to connect with children of all ages and abilities, ensuring they feel supported, safe, and engaged.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging children in creative and active activities that spark their imagination and keep them moving! Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, dance, outdoor games, and storytime. I also enjoy organizing fun educational games that help with learning while having a great time. No matter the activity, my goal is always to make sure the children are entertained, active, and happy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can feel comfortable and thrive. Building trust with both the children and their parents is key, as is providing activities that are both fun and educational. My goal is to be a positive role model, ensuring the children feel loved, respected, and encouraged in everything they do.
My experience with special needs children...
I have had the privilege of working with children with special needs in several capacities. As an adaptive dance mentor, I helped children with various physical and developmental disabilities express themselves through movement. Additionally, I volunteered as a peer tutor in high school, assisting teens with special needs to succeed in their studies. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It has to be the time I created an interactive treasure hunt with the kids I was babysitting. I designed the whole adventure to focus on increasing their reading and teamwork skills. The treasure hunt involved clues hidden all over the house, each written out as riddles or short passages from books. As they worked through each clue, they had to read and solve it together, which encouraged them to communicate and collaborate. Seeing their faces light up as they pieced everything together was priceless. Not only did they have a blast, but it also helped them improve their reading abilities and teamwork—two things I was so happy to see them developing in such a fun way!
