Hello! My name is Caitlin, and I am 26 years old. I have been residing in Ventura for 2 years now with my fiancé and our energetic dog. I recently finished up volunteering at the local hospital, where I gained practical experience as I work toward my goal of becoming a Child Life Specialist. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University, which I earned in May 2023, as well as an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have gained valuable experience working as a student teacher and assistant teacher at two preschools, where I developed and implemented age-appropriate curriculum plans tailored to the children’s interests and supported classroom supervision. Additionally, I have seven years of experience as a nanny and babysitter, caring for children ranging from newborns to 12 years old. In my current role, I work with hospitalized children once a week, offering emotional support and engaging them in positive activities to help alleviate the stress associated with their medical environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy providing children with opportunities for open-ended play, as I believe it is essential for their cognitive and social development. I also prioritize outdoor activities, incorporating nature walks and other forms of physical play into our routine. My goal is to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that foster creativity, curiosity, and joy. I am dedicated to ensuring that children not only learn but also have fun in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important aspect of being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive. I am deeply committed to fostering their development and well-being by building trusting relationships and serving as a positive influence during their formative years. This involves not only meeting their basic needs but also actively engaging them through play, education, and emotional support. I prioritize open communication with parents to ensure that their child’s needs are fully met, and that we work together to support their growth in every aspect.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with older children with disabilities, where I developed skills in adapting activities and providing individualized support. Additionally, I have completed college coursework in etiology, which has deepened my understanding of the causes and developmental impacts of various disabilities. This background enables me to approach each child’s unique needs with empathy, knowledge, and a commitment to fostering their growth and independence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, some of my most rewarding experiences have been building trust with the children in my care and fostering meaningful connections that their parents value. A particularly special memory is when the children I last cared for would go to the front window each day as I left, waving and blowing kisses as I drove away. These moments highlight the strong bond we developed.
