I worked at a school as a paraprofessional and assistant director of aftercare for 2 years. Due to budget cuts, my position was cut, however, I am still subbing at the school. I also taught/assisted dance classes at my local dance studio for 5 years. I also used to volunteer in the baby room at my church growing up.

I enjoy playing games and seeing them learn something new or making crafts. I also like helping them with their work because I get to recognize the best way they can learn and helping them understand what they are learning.

Making sure you are setting a good example for the kids. I want them to have another positive role model. When they are feeling overwhelmed, making sure I am remaining calm so they don’t feel even more anxious. Or showing them how to make crafts, and play games. Or helping them learn skills like cleaning up or helping others.
