A little bit about me

I love working with children learning to interact with their world. Along with teaching children and introducing them to different learning concepts through play, I know it is so important to give them a safe space to grow into themselves and be able to express who they are.

Time outside is invaluable as kids can pick up so much and I find it's a great learning experience to learn social skills, how their body can move, and gives them a mental boost! I love doing my best to have outdoor activities including walks and play in the park, playground time, playgroups and a picnic, visiting zoos, and splash pads. Along with outside time I make sure to add music, dance, and games to keep the day fun!

I am CPR and First Aid certified and find safety and health most important. I'm willing to do sick care and make sure to keep a clean and healthy environment.

Keeping the most important thing in mind is that each child is an individual who needs individual care, and that is what I provide.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked as a nanny for 3 years, working with ages 14 months old to 4 years old, and have greatly enjoyed seeing them grow. I've also worked as a teacher's assistant in a Montessori school and learned so much about their philosophy, bringing some of their ideas to my work today.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

During the week I enjoy bringing the children to the park, playground, library, zoo, splash pad, plan a playdate, set up a picnic, paint, play with a sensory bin, and we'll have reading time throughout the day and encourage a love of reading!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most is giving children a safe and healthy environment in which they feel comfortable expressing themselves, learning and trying new things, and growing into themselves. They learn emotional regulation and how to safely express themselves, how to effectively communicate, ways to respect others and themselves, how to think outside the box, and many more things by having a safe environment in which they can feel more comfortable testing their boundaries and having those opportunities to learn through guidance and experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny so far has been the day I saw my charge come out of her shell. She's very shy and she'd only ever done some parallel play with her best friend. One day we met her friend at the park, myself and the other nanny brought toys and games to encourage them to play, and seeing her belly laugh and run around and chase her best friend and fully play, it was the best experience seeing her grow so confident and comfortable to be able to interact with her so fully.
