More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have volunteered at Bookworm Gardens creating crafts for the garden areas and participating in the summer camps that are held every year! I’ve volunteered in the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in the daycare section where we practiced many arts and crafts but kept literacy and learning fun! I worked in the A Million Dreamz 24/7 daycare for close to a year, I was a Lead Teacher so I took responsibility in creating lesson plans, meal times, group activities indoors and outdoors, observed and documented children’s behaviors, kept all areas clean and sanitized on a daily basis as well as communicated with families on a daily bases!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’ve always loved creating games or activities from items from home or recycled items. Depending on the age group I make sure whatever activity we will be doing will be age appropriate for the child to partake in! Outdoor games I love to play I spy or make a “nature scavenger hunt” so the child/children can see things and then see it on the list and cross it off! Indoor games I would like to make fun as possible but also safe for the children so nobody is getting injured. Having activities that incorporate a child’s gross and fine motor skills I find very fun because not only are they just having fun they are learning things and developing stronger skills!
The most important part about being a nanny...
A lot of things I hear when I tell people I take care of children automatically people’s brain run to “well your just babysitting” One crucial thing I have learned being a child educator is we help guide children through their emotions, interactions with peers, through their environment and so much more! Caring for children means helping shape the minds for the future!
My experience with special needs children...
I have been in care with children that have autism as well as children who are visually impaired! It was a learning experience for me but one of the most beautiful experiences I have encountered! The main important thing was to make sure I was aware of all the important needs for that child to make sure they were taken care off properly and that they were comfortable!
The most important part about being a nanny...
A very memorable moment for me working with kiddos is the trust not just from the child but from the parents as well! The best part of working with kiddos is the cuddles and the compliments that make your heart melt and know you are doing a wonderful job.
