Hello. I'm recently new to Iowa. I previously lived in Tennessee. I have babysat children before both during the day as well as overnight. I'm getting my license fixed being in a new state. I am also going to be getting my cpr certificate. I'm currently going for my Masters degree in Criminal Justice. I have a flexible schedule & willing to work around schedules. I do have my own personal vehicle to be able to get around. I am willing to cook & do light cleaning as well as help with homework. I will also do crafts or other fun projects. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

If it is a nice day I think its great to let kids run around outside & enjoy the sunshine. I enjoy doing art & crafts with kids because each outcome is different & unique. I'm more than willing to sit on a floor full of blocks & build stuff with the kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to me as a nanny is having a trusting relationship with not only the children but also the parents. This makes the job run smoother. Its important that the children feel comfortable as well as because they have feelings and instincts as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a child that was autistic. I think its important to listen to them & get on their level if something is wrong & they are upset. Its important to know they have their own boundaries & may not want to talk or give hugs or want to do much but its still important to let them know you are there.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is realizing how happy the children are to see you come back. It makes me feel good that they react that way & feel safe. There was one time I walked into the house I was babysitting for & I had to step back outside for a second before the parents left, the little boy started crying until I came back inside.
