The most important thing about being a nanny is ensuring the safety & well-being of the children in your care. This includes protecting children from harm, providing for their basic needs, & fostering a nuturing & supportive environment.
My experience with special needs children...
I have been an occasional sitter for parents that had a child with autism. I also used to be an occasional sitter for parents that had a child who was born with brain issues at birth & had to be in special education all of her school years. Plus, I always loved to play with my cousin that had down syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I was trying to feed quadruplet boys. They were 6 months old & were all hungry at the same time. I had them in bouncers on the floor trying to keep up with feeding them. As I was wiping the mouth of 2 of them, I looked over & the dog was licking the baby food drool off the mouths of the other 2 boys. I couldn't help but laugh before I told the dog to go lay down & cleaned the boys up.
