A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Caroline, and I am a Maryland native-turned Colorado lover. I moved out west for college, where I studied Geography and Spanish in the University of Denver's Honors Program. I am also a foster-pup mom, so family pets are a plus! I work full time in environmental health and safety up in Commerce City, and my schedule would be best suited for a family looking for afternoon/weekend care.

My love of early-childhood development stemmed from my own mother, who is a teacher and self-proclaimed "underdog advocate". My childcare experiences range from babysitting, teaching Ballet for 6+ years, and leading summer camps. As both a dancer and an artist, I am fascinated by children's innate sense of creativity and wonder, and truly take joy in watching them grow into their own unique selves. Teaching has been one of the greatest joys of my life--equipping students with the agency to materialize their creativity into physical representations of their hard work and intellect, and, of course, have fun, is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Through opportunities beginning at the age of 16, I have shared my love of dance as both an assistant and primary teacher for young mind's aged 3-17.

Additionally, I lead religious education classes to 4-5 year olds at my local church for 5 years.

Furthermore, I was a summer camp educator at my HS summer of 2022, where I designed and implemented camps focused on eco-arts, nature, sewing, and fashion.

Crafting, drawing, dancing, exploring nature, reading, and visiting museums and parks.

My number one priority as a nanny is to ensure the safety of your child while effectively carryout parental preferences in regard to childcare.

Additionally, I strive to ensure that children feel safe and welcome to be their truest selves, as well as to help them grow and develop into kind, compassionate humans while making sure they understand how important and special they are to the world!

My experience with special needs children...

As a dance teacher, I have experience teaching children with attention deficit disorders and on the autism spectrum. Likewise, I taught dance classes to students with disabilities aged 16-40+ for five years. I have no formal training or certifications, with exception to CPR and 1st aid/BLS.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One afternoon, I was playing dress up with two little girls I was responsible for. The older sister, in the middle of dancing her way through a 'magical forest', stopped, ran, and gave me a hug, and said 'Thank you Ms. Caroline!'. She is one of the kindest and brightest girls I have ever met, so I wasn't necessary surprised by her behavior, but I was taken aback by her spontaneity, as she is rather reserved. Though this was a simple moment, it meant so much to me, as it signified her trust and appreciation for our time together.
