A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Caroline. I have been employed for years to watch over children, but a good bulk of my experience has come right out of my own home. I am the oldest child of 7 kids, ranging from me (27 years old) to my youngest brother (13 years old). Because of this, I have had the chance to play the role of second mom for my whole life. I've truly seen it all! I have a lot of experience with newborns and every age after. I currently make my living as a part time nanny and personal assistant to a business executive and her three children, ages 1, 5, and 9. The rest of my work schedule is taken up teaching 30+ private piano and voice students ranging from 6 years old to 24 years old.
I am currently looking for a summer position as I will be returning home to get my degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah in the fall. I would love an out of state adventure before I get back to school! I look forward to meeting you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-taught swimming lessons for two summers to children ranging 1.5 years old to 18 years old.
-worked as a Social Emotional Learning Coach in an elementary school where I worked with children in need of extra help socially or academically. I taught social skills and emotional/self regulation tools.
-have taught/ and am currently teaching piano and voice lessons to students ranging from 6 years old to 24 years old.
-currently hold a job paid by the state being a caregiver for a young adult with Rhetts Syndrome. This includes basic entertainment, feeding, and supervising.
-other current job is as a nanny and personal assistant to a business executive and family of 5 (as aforementioned)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything! Swimming, yoga, games, homework, music, reading, local activities, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Safety! Not just physical safety, but emotional and psychological safety as well. These are formative years for a person's brain, and it is important to me that the neural pathways being formed reflect someone who treats themselves and others well, knows how to regulate their emotions, knows their worth, and so much more. I hope to be an example and an advocate for safety in children's lives. A true "Trusted Adult".

My experience with special needs children...

During my time with the school district I worked with many children with different special needs such as ADHD, anger issues, and social issues.
I also am currently a caregiver for a young adult with Rhetts Syndrome. She is nonverbal and requires basic care such as feeding, medication, and other supervision.
