More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes nannying for infants and young children, teaching middle school art, assistant teaching, and working in therapeutic youth support settings. I’ve always naturally connected well with kids and genuinely enjoy creating warm, safe, creative, and supportive environments where they feel comfortable, encouraged, and cared for.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing creative and engaging activities with children such as arts and crafts, painting, drawing, reading together, imaginative play, baking, sensory activities, nature walks, playground trips, outdoor games, scavenger hunts, movie nights, music, and helping with learning or homework in fun and encouraging ways. I enjoy balancing creativity, structure, outdoor time, and calm moments based on each child’s personality and needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is creating an environment where children feel safe, understood, supported, and genuinely cared for. Beyond helping with routines and daily responsibilities, I believe great childcare is about building trust, encouraging curiosity and confidence, and becoming a calm, dependable presence in a child’s life. Every child is different, so I also think patience, emotional awareness, adaptability, and strong communication with families are incredibly important.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children includes working with children, teens, and adults with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, physical, emotional, and learning differences. I’ve worked alongside individuals with autism, Asperger’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, communication device use, mental health challenges, behavioral needs, and IEP accommodations through therapeutic support roles, teaching, nannying, and art programs. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, emotional awareness, and ability to create supportive environments where individuals feel respected, understood, encouraged, and genuinely cared for.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was watching a little girl I cared for completely fall in love with bugs and nature from a very young age. I still remember sitting with her at the park while she watched ants crawl by before she could even properly walk on her own. As she got older, that curiosity turned into chasing butterflies, collecting worms and beetles, and proudly showing me every strange little creature she could find.
One day when she was almost two, she found a butterfly and spotted lanternfly she desperately wanted to keep, so I preserved them in resin for her birthday so she could treasure them without accidentally destroying them. Years later, her family still sends me updates and photos of all her “gross bug adventures” as she now teaches her younger sister how cool insects are. I love moments like that because they remind me how meaningful it can be to encourage children’s curiosity, creativity, and sense of wonder.
