A little bit about me

I've been a full-time nanny for the last seven years and am also currently working toward my postpartum doula certification. I'm well-versed in caring for children from newborns through grade school. I'm always up for a fun, creative craft from my supply of materials, while modeling how to cleanup and keep our space tidy. And for infants, I'm a big advocate for entertaining tummy time, motor skill practice and basic ASL for early communication development. Your child will learn all the fundamentals and more, catered to their age and development.

I'm consistently researching conscious parenting and utilizing the tools I learn to foster a relationship based on compassion, curiosity, consent and respect. It is important that your child feels safe, loved and confident in themselves.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a snowboard instructor many years ago for children ages 3-10, as well as helping the arts education coordinator at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For babies and infants, I encourage strengthening tummy time and gentle rolling exercises, when appropriate. I also help them explore their fine motor skills, read books, and go for walks.

For the toddlers and older kids, I’m a big fan of crafts, from painting to learn about color and color mixing, to clay & fabrics to learn about textures, paper projects to learn scissor safety & skills, and crafts that involve a little bit of scientific magic.

Spending time outdoors offers invaluable fun and learning opportunities as well. Whether it’s a mindful walk to tune into and observe our surroundings, or a playful game that involves chalk and learning letters & numbers, I love outside time with little ones.

And for those rainy days, nothing beats a good story time blanket fort or adventurous obstacle course! It’s also very important to me that your child learns about their emotions, regulation tools and body safety through play, whether through their toys or child-led role playing.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children with ADHD and Sturge-Weber Syndrome. I’ve learned the importance of modeling desired behavior and how to make learning fun. It’s important to me that your child feels valued for simply being who they are, and feel celebrated and encouraged for their effort when doing hard things.
