More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In late March of 2020, I was hired to care for a group of kindergarten students who all lived near each other and were in the same classroom when the pandemic shut down the schools. I was able to orchestrate a pod schooling system for them all, along with my other nanny duties of feeding lunch, outside time, following the precautions of the shut down, indoor activities, etc.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I mostly like to follow the lead of the child while implementing appropriate and healthy behaviors/choices. That being said, if I notice that a child is more sensitive on one day, I might offer a gentle walk and puzzle. As opposed to a day when that same child is full of energy, we might go to the park to play for 45 minutes, and have lunched packed to enjoy afterwards.
Some things I always like to do with children are making crafts/creating art of any kind and regular outdoors time. Ideally, I like to spend some time outside daily, and fortunately, we live in a place where the weather is typically mild enough to do so!
I am a musician so any chance to nurture a child's love of music through creating it, singing, dancing, etc, fills my heart with joy!

The most important part about being a nanny...
Flexibility. A nanny needs to know how to respond in any moment from playful and fun to emergency or crisis. The level of responsibility that a nanny has should never be taken lightly. This also plays into the comfort and love that a nanny should bring as being also of incredible importance.
My experience with special needs children...
I am currently studying Special Education and have spent time in a Special Education classroom for study hours. I also have cared for adults with disabilities in my career as a care provider.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh, it is almost impossible to pick one moment. I think it is whenever I get to babysit for the children that use to be my littles and are 13+ now. They are so self assured and good kids/people, which really makes me feel immense pride.
