Hi, my name is Catherine! I am the oldest of 4 and have babysat since before I can remember. I have previous job experience working with kids ages 5-16 at a Boys and Girls Club as well as at Genius Gems. Additionally, I was a afterschool nanny during my time in New York. I also worked in the education department at the Houston Downtown Aquarium leading elementary level lessons to students. I am CPR and first aid certified. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a Junior Staff at the Boys & Girls Club of Fauquier for 4 years with 100 kids ages 5 to 16. I ran a variety of programs and worked as a mentor to youth. Additionally, I nannied for a first grader in NYC, doing light housework on the side. I also led STEM programs at Genius Gems. During my time in TX, I worked in the education department leading lessons to school aged children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

For inside activities I love to color and draw, build, make music, cook, and try new challenges. For outside activities I enjoy going on walks, visiting the park, going shopping, the pool, the beach, day trips, and using the imagination. Overall though, the most important part is to have fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is having the ability to listen. Things won't always go to plan and sometimes the kids have a different agenda. As long as you show respect and listen there's a compromise that can be reached to continue having fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are so many stand out memorable moments working with kids. I think one of my favorite moments was having a coloring competition and getting so many "presents" of drawings later in the day as a thank you for having fun.
