In my longest-term nanny position, I cared for an 8-year-old girl with high needs Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have also babysat for a young girl with Down syndrome, and I have limited proficiency in American Sign Language for interaction with nonverbal or Deaf children.

My favourite moments are always when my kids get creative. Once, one of them watched Star Trek with her dad and was so excited about it that she asked me to help her make her bedroom into a 'spaceship' (lots of cardboard boxes and blankets), and then have all her toys be the crew. It was adorable and so much fun to help her imagination come to life!
