Early Education Professional. Working in the classroom(ages 0-13) ,as an Education Director(ages 2-5) and Managing a large private inclusive CDC (0-13). I have a degree in Early Childhood Education, a Child Development Associate, Certificates in Infant Care & Day Care Admin.I ran a small child care business for military families for 8 yrs, moving into private Montessori, Nannying, and into Leadership Roles.I am experienced (and have taught) in the understanding of brain states and how it impacts behaviors.And in working with children to expand their ability to identify emotions, regulate, express and communicate them.Teaching self-regulations skills while also being there to co-regulate as they grow this skill. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy going on walks, finding new parks, water play, outdoor play, reading, arts and crafts, creative play, and providing intentional engagement during interactions to allow for learning opportunities through conversations and exploration. I believe that creating a connection is vital to providing an environment a child feels safe and fully able to be their authentic self. I encourage expressing feelings, support co and self regulation, playfulness, and building social and emotional skills.. creating learning experiences through fun and independence through choices and allowing to make decisions that are safe and within boundaries the parents seek to provide. I believe in safety first, connection as essential and fun as a must!

The most important part is assuring safety. Also important is being intentional about creating a connection. And then of course, just having fun!

My experience with special needs children...

I have been blessed to work with children of many abilities for many years. My focus with every child is to learn who they are , where they are and what works best for them. I seek to meet every child where they are and help them grow and flourish from there. I have worked with children needing extra support with communication, physical abilities, emotional/social support, and eating support needs. I have also worked with children that have learning delays and trauma. Again, connection, parent communication and meeting them where they are are top priority for me in supporting each child

The most important part about being a nanny...

When a little girl in my class that had social anxiety and wouldn’t interact at the start of the year, later in the year was joining in group time and dancing! Also when a nonverbal child started using words! And those moments when you’re just having fun and hear them giggle joyfully
