More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My passion for childcare began through babysitting for family and friends. I volunteered in a blended infant and toddler classroom for two years before moving into a paid early learning environment. I have experience working as a teacher assistant in an infant classroom where I supported the development and care of 8-10 children. I then moved to a lead position with toddlers aged 1-3 where I managed lesson plans, performing developmental assessment and working with families to review their child’s development and set proactive goals. After gaining necessary skills I moved to a role as a pre k teacher in order to serve a larger and broader range of families. My experience has given me the ability to work in a variety of different ratios of educators to children effectively from 1:1 to 1:10.

I love planning a variety of activities to address different developmental ages, abilities and domains. Inspiring open ended creativity and play is a key philosophy of mine as listening to and following the child’s interest is the key to inspiring a passion for learning. I enjoy planning different art activities, sensory explorations and outdoor play experiences.
