I have childcare experience as a camp counselor, a tutor for children in elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school, and as a junior forestry instructor.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny to me is my ability to help families maintain the life they wish to provide for each other. Knowing that the stress of everyday life can be alleviated with my help, whether that be household chores, running errands, pet sitting, or childcare.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited experience with children who have special needs, but I have been a camp counselor for those with special needs and a babysitter to kids with educational accommodations and learning disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Summer 23, I had the opportunity to work with two sisters, ages 3 and 6. I showed them how to find books at the library before checking out a bug encyclopedia to go on a bug identification hunt, I taught them how to build wooden boats they could race in the stream, we painted rocks, made bouquets of wildflowers, made clay animals, and they learned how to twist grass into rope for bracelets. When the older of the two to went to camp, she had a moment of hesitation before walking to her fellow campers. I picked her up from camp that week and she held her head high with a massive smile on her face and her walking stick, with her new friends, with a confidence in herself all kids should have. She came back and spent time teaching her younger sister all the things she learned at camp. It is one of the most rewarding experiences of life — to be able to watch the younger generations grow into themselves and experience all life has to offer.
