More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been working for a family since 2019 and have a wonderful relationship with them. I do everything from childcare to laundry and meal prep, organizing, running errands, and stitching up torn stuffed animals. I have also raised three of my five children to adulthood. I spent 10 years homeschooling them and I have also worked as a substitute teacher, so education and watching kids learn is important to me.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing board games and going to museums. I like to find creative kid-appropriate ways of getting them to engage with museum exhibits and even interact with nature. I am open to tuning in to the individual interests of children even if it is not my strong suit.
My experience with special needs children...
I have raised a son with mild Cerebral Palsy who is now succeeding in college. I have also substituted in several special needs classrooms and worked with a variety of students in that capacity.
