A little bit about me

Hi! I have been working in childcare for around 6 years. I have watched and taken care of up to 4 children at once of all ages. I am currently working on an early childhood and special education degree, so I have clinical knowledge as well as experience. I also am CPR certified for infants, children, and adults as well as have my clearances. I am more than happy to cook, do light cleaning, laundry, carpools, and anything else you may need. I am also open to creative teaching over the summer if needed. My main goal is to make a safe environment with your kiddos as well as have some fun! My hours can be very flexible, but I am looking for constant hours over the summer. I am leaving for school in the fall, but until then, I would love to help you and your family. I have done lots of volunteering in my community. I am currently the director of children’s activities and I am very passionate about it.

I enjoy playing outside and embarking on nature adventures as well as incorporating music and art in where I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the children are safe, happy, and able to be themselves in their truest form. I look at every child like their own being because that’s what they are. Helping to guide children through life is a gift I’ve been given by past parts and I love it every time I meet a new kiddo.

My experience with special needs children...

I am currently pursuing a degree in special education with a minor in American Sign Language. I am in the beginning of my ASL fluency journey, but I am constantly learning new things. I have volunteered with individuals with autism, deaf/hard of hearing, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I always love the moment where a child is excited to see me rather than sad their parent is leaving. I do everything I can to help those transitions be easier for the children. It took me around 2 months to get that moment with a particular 8 month old. I loved coming into the house and acting silly or being armed with Elmo music or fun distractions. It was very rewarding when I walked in one day and she ran to me instead of away from me. (I only saw her once a week, which at her age is an eternity between visits).
