Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting for over 10 years now ages 0-12, including twins! I worked in a day care for 0-3 year olds at a high school as well as in an Elementary After School Program where I helped with math, art, reading and got to spend time outside with the kids. I also worked as an in home care giver for an individual with cerebral palsy. Most recently I worked in the day care of a close family member who takes care of children ages 0-13.

I enjoying riding bikes, swimming, building sand castles, and pretty much anything outside! I also love a cozy day inside painting, reading, cooking, listening to music and watching a movie.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Giving children room to grow and be who they are is one of the most important things to me. The way we treat children as they develop really shapes who they become. Everyone deserves to be treated kindly and with love and to be given room to make mistakes and to be who they are without fear of judgement. My favorite thing to do as a nanny/care giver is to encourage dreams. There are so many influences in life telling us that we can’t do something or we aren’t good enough and I don’t ever want to be that person. I love to see my kid’s faces light up when I listen and encourage them as they tell me about their dreams and goals.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most recently nanny job was cut short because of Covid but I loved the time I got with the family! The baby I was taking care of was 4 months old and I got to watch her roll over for the first time. It was so exciting to watch her grow but also get to see how happy her parents were.
The day care I worked at part time was fun because I was able to connect with older elementary aged kids. I don’t have any brothers so it was especially fun to get to know the boys and have experiences building and creating with them while getting to know their personalities.
