More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a nanny for a sibling foster group for about two years (ages 16–18), which taught me a lot about patience, structure, and showing up consistently for kids who’ve been through a lot. After that, I worked as an assistant teacher at an Early Learning Center for two years in my early 20s, where I helped manage classrooms, support routines, and care for younger kids in a more structured setting. Between both of those, I’ve worked with a wide range of personalities, ages, and needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love finding ways to keep kids engaged in simple, fun ways! I’m big on getting outside, going for walks, and letting kids explore a bit. I also enjoy encouraging imagination through make-believe play, as well as doing things like coloring, crafts, and even little science experiments. I like giving kids space to be creative while still having some structure to the day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a space where a child feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. Everything else builds from that. When a child feels secure, they are able to grow, learn, and be themselves more confidently.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked with kids impacted by FASD, attachment challenges, and foster/adoptive backgrounds, and that’s really shaped how I approach caregiving. I try to stay patient and steady, especially during harder moments, and not just react to behavior but understand what’s underneath it. I focus a lot on helping kids feel safe, building trust over time, and keeping things as consistent and predictable as possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of caregiving is getting to experience that moment when a child starts to feel safe and open up. Those itty bitty moments mean a lot to me and remind me why I love this work.

Hello! My name is Talia.
I have 7+ years of childcare experience, primarily in volunteer positions, and two years of paid childcare positions.
