A little bit about me

I just moved to the area after volunteering in Costa Rica for the past year and a half. I would love to meet your family and see if we're a good fit! While I'm looking for a full-time position, I am available for any and all babysitting, nanny, and caregiving jobs.
I am a teacher and have 10+ years of experience as a professional nanny. I'm certified in Family and Consumer Sciences and can teach Culinary Arts or Home Ec. I have taught Music, Reading, and grades K5-12th. Additionally, I have home schooled my own children for several years.
I'm a Christian and grew up as a missionary. My parents had a ministry called Good New for Little People that led children to Christ. We served doing puppets, skits, clowning with balloon animals, and I led singing using sign language.
I'm excited to explore this area and visit new museums, parks, and nature centers. I love making every day an adventure of learning through baking, crafts, books, and of course building pillow forts! Adventure awaits

I've been a music teacher, a reading teacher, and a 2nd grade teacher. I am also licensed to teach Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Ec./ Culinary Arts).

I've been a professional nanny for over 10 years and have cared for children in the Richmond, VA and Santa Rosa Beach, FL areas.

I've homeschooled my own 3 children and have worked as a tutor for other families as they have homeschooled their children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to bake, do crafts, go to the library, go on walks or bike rides, make pillow forts, go to museums, see plays, go to the zoo or aquarium, and try to make every day an adventure!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is to be a 2nd mother to a child, making sure each child is loved and cared for as well as nurtured and taught all of the important things in life. Hiring a nanny is like choosing a new family member. This is someone you want your children to look up to respect and love as well as become a partner in raising them with you. I have become a close confidant to parents and have helped encourage new mothers as they have struggled with breast feeding and even post-partum depression. I know that my experiences as a nanny and mother have helped encourage many new moms to find their way through motherhood. And it has been my honor to do so.
