I’ve been babysitting since I was about 15 years old. Starting with my younger siblings and neighborhood children, I also became a camp counselor over the summer. Since I moved to LA to become a professional photographer, I’ve always worked with children on the side as a part time & full time nanny as well as an on-call sitter!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Age appropriate games and activities (especially being creative during Covid) with old favorites like hide and seek, four corners, freeze tag and much more. I’m also a super creative person and love looking on Pinterest for fun arts and crafts that kids of all ages can enjoy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think really understanding children’s needs. I’ve worked with a lot of children under the age of 6, and it’s important to be patient when kids have temper tantrums, as well as be disciplined-I think following up on what you say is really important, if you tell a child they’re not going to receive a treat or will have a time out if they behave badly, to really follow up with it. From personal experience as a nanny and on call babysitter, I want parents to know I’m really trying to look after their children, and help in any way I can!
