A little bit about me

I am looking for a nanny or childcare position where I can provide reliable, nurturing, and engaging care for children. I am open to part-time or full-time roles and enjoy working with infants, toddlers, and elementary-aged children. I am especially interested in supporting daily routines, planning fun and age-appropriate activities, helping with homework, and creating a safe, positive environment.
About me: I am a patient, responsible, and caring caregiver with a strong background in early childhood and elementary education. I am currently studying education and have experience in preschools, classrooms, and one-on-one childcare. I value safety, clear communication with families, and building trusting relationships, and I love helping children feel supported, confident, and happy.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive paid and volunteer childcare experience caring for children from infancy through elementary school. I currently work as a student worker at the Ben & Maxine Miller Child Development Lab School (preschool), where I support daily routines, assist with learning activities, and promote social and emotional development in a safe, nurturing environment.
I also have experience as a substitute teacher and kindergarten student teacher, planning engaging activities, supporting diverse learning needs, and maintaining positive, structured classrooms. In addition, I have worked as a head teacher and bilingual teacher assistant, providing individualized support and helping with language development.
Outside the classroom, I have hands-on experience as a babysitter, swim instructor, and certified lifeguard. I am patient, responsible, and caring, and I prioritize child safety while creating fun, supportive routines where children feel confident and happy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, reading books together, imaginative play, and hands-on learning activities. I enjoy planning age-appropriate games, outdoor play, and movement activities to help children stay active and engaged. I also like supporting homework, practicing early literacy and math skills, cooking or baking simple recipes together, and incorporating music, singing, or storytelling into daily routines. Most importantly, I enjoy creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children feel encouraged to explore, learn, and be themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where kids feel heard, cared for, and encouraged to learn and grow—while keeping communication open with parents to ensure everyone is on the same page.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children includes working as a substitute paraeducator/special education support staff in classroom settings. In this role, I assist students with daily routines, academic tasks, and behavior support while following individualized education plans (IEPs). I provide one-on-one and small-group support, help with communication and social skills, and adapt activities to meet each child’s needs. I prioritize patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, and I work closely with teachers to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child feels understood and successful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when a child who was once shy or hesitant begins to feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn or play. Seeing their personality shine as they grow more independent is incredibly rewarding.

Meg G. - Seeking Work in West Lafayette

Part-Time Nanny Available in West Lafayette, IN: Meg G.

Hello, I’m the mother of three, aged 23, 18, 13. I have an elementary education degree and have had CPR and First aide certificates in the past and would be happy to update those if needed. I stayed home with my children and did in-home childcare as they were growing up. When my children started school full-time, I began working in the schools in various positions including interventionist, aide, substitute teacher and coach. I would care for children in my clean and peaceful home. I take care to use non-toxic items as much as possible and we eat a healthy, primarily organic, diet. I am very engaging with the children I care for and we would spend time outside, exercising, engaging with peers and intellectual engagement every day. I have no children at home during the day and I have a clean guest room which would be only for your child for naps. I like to create a schedule and space that works well for the child and am excited to step back into this role.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in West Lafayette, IN: Elizabeth B.

My name is Ellie Burns, I am the oldest child of six. Working with children has been a responsibility of mine since I was ten. It is something that came naturally to me having grown up with so many siblings around while also watching other parents children. I have worked with special Ed kids from ages 4-23 of all sorts of mental disorders on both sides of the spectrum. Nothing phases or surprises me now. Everything is a normal experience that needs to be handled with dignity and responsibility. I love reading, writing, singing, dancing, drawing, meeting people, playing games, playing outside, making jokes, watching cool movies. I know Sign Language and am learning Spanish. I worked with children in Colombia for six weeks over the summer of 2025 for a study abroad through Purdues Honors College.
