More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
For the past 2 1/2 years I have worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Missoula; First as the Site Director at the Mid Missoula location, and then as the Operations Coordinator during the summer months. I also ran the drama program each summer for the 9-12 age group as a bit of a passion project.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When not working on an art project (so many to choose from), I enjoy getting outside, dancing to videos, listening to podcasts, playing cards, working on puzzles, and watching nature/science documentaries with the kiddos. I'm a curious person, and like to encourage that in the little ones as well, so I enjoy googling things that they bring up right in the moment and then reading about it aloud.

I have had multiple experiences working with children who fall on the high functioning side of the autism scale during my time with BGCM.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One time while eating lunch I asked one of my kindergardeners if she was an only child like me. She responded that she was but really wanted a baby sister. After a few moments she looked up, very serious, and asked "....but how do you grow a baby?". I had my mouth full, and really wasn't sure what I was going to say, when she went ahead and answered her own question: "...By feeding it food?". I swallowed, "Well yes, that's a part of it...yeah, you definitely have to feed it food". Satisfied, and still serious, she nodded, turned, and rejoined her friends. I never get tired of watching the wheels turn during moments like this.
