Hello,
I am a healthy and fit, retired critical care RN looking for a fun fulfilling way to supplement my retirement.
After retiring, I became a certified professional dog trainer by attending an animal behavior college that offered certification.
I love animals, the outdoors, working out, reading, biking, camping, kayaking, being on the water and gardening.
I have wanderlust and a desire to travel the world, experiencing different cultures, foods, and ways of living. I would love to make a difference in Life by helping the less fortunate by volunteering and teaching people how to raise and train a happy healthy, well adjusted dog that can become a friend, companion and family member that you can take everywhere with you. I would love to help decrease the sad tragedy of having to rehome a pet because of an unhealthy or destructive behavior issue.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I raised three children who grew to be awesome humans.
Provided consistent part-time childcare for my two grandchildren.
In addition, I have provided childcare for four additional families in the SPOKANE area over the last five years. All of the parents of the children I cared for left me very favorable reviews and provided positive references that I can provide upon request.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Outside play, hiking, swimming, biking, picnics in parks, games, swimming, puzzles, arts and crafts, reading to and with, teaching household chores, and just being silly!

The most important part about being a nanny is that the work is of vital importance because a caregiver is an important influence in a child’s healthy growth & development.
Negative early childhood experiences and traumatic events experienced during early childhood can have a detrimental influence on a childs future attachment styles, and behaviors in adulthood relationships.

My experience with special needs children...

I am currently caring for two children with neurodivergent diagnosis.
I worked with special-needs developmentally challenged kids in the practicum required in nursing school (I am a retired critical care RN).

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when the child I was caring became bonded with me and told his mom that he missed me when I was gone.
I also had a mother express that she was grateful that she could work happily and trust that I was a healthy influence in her children’s lives.
