A little bit about me

Hi my name is Cindy and I'm a retired social worker/therapist with a masters degree in counseling and a minor in child development.
I'm seeking a PT/FT nanny position and if your interested in a Nanny share that's negotiable. I have a finger print clearance card, CPR, first aide and a valid driver's license. Overall I'm dependable, can multi-task, good sense of humor, excellent communication skills, flexible, loving, compassionate, trustworthy and fun.
Most recently employed with 2 families lasting 3 years. Currently the 3yr old attends pre-school 4 1/2 days a wk and has a sister who is now 1yr. Both kiddos cared for since they were 3mos. My other family has a 2 yr old whom I cared for her since she was 6 months old. She now attends Montessori and I still care for her on a random basis. In addition my grandson is now 3 and he too attends Montessori. I had been caring for him since he was 6 wks old. I do love working as a Nanny and enjoy developing new family relationships.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Have experience caring for multiples, infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Familiar with handling breast milk and formula. Experience with sleep training, bottle feed, and potty training. Work with babies to reach their milestones. I read to the them, sing, dance, tummy time and go for walks. Been to the library for infant and toddler time, going to the park, Zoo, and other out door activities. Summer time includes swimming, indoor fun and play dates. Been caring for infants since 3 days old and continue until preschool. The past 3 yrs included a Nanny share. More details if your interested.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading to them, go to the library so they can participate in activities for infant and toddlers. Go swimming, arts and crafts, building blocks, tummy time, legos, teaching with Ms Rachel, long walks, park, play dates, singing/dancing and overall having fun while providing a safe and loving environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Patience, affection, teaching while in play, using words they understand paying close attention to identify their needs. Provide a safe, loving environment. In addition communication, trust, respect and adhering to the boundaries set by the parents. Often I have become part of the family and remain connected even after I have moved on.

My experience with special needs children have been in a clinical setting only.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Playing with the twins who were identical and not being able to identify who was who.
There's actually many favorite moments caring for my kiddos. ie: First time crawling, first steps, first time eating food, smile-laughing, trying to talk, hugs and kisses. There's a sweetness behind each one of these.
