My name is Claire, and I am a junior at Appalachian State University, majoring in psychology with a focus on health studies. I am home for the summer and am looking to babysit/nanny! During my junior and senior years of high school, I gained experience babysitting and nannying for several families. I also have a younger sister whom I frequently tutor in math and English, which has honed my skills in teaching and providing patient, individualized care.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience working with children in a variety of settings. Throughout high school, I regularly babysat for families with children ages 5 to 10, gaining hands-on experience in providing safe, engaging care and managing daily routines. More recently, I worked for 7 weeks as a full-time counselor at Camp Merri-Mac for Girls, where I was responsible for the well-being of middle school-aged campers. This included helping them adjust to being away from home, resolving conflicts, supporting their emotional needs, and creating a positive cabin environment. I also taught a fencing activity at the camp, working with girls aged 6 to 16, and adapting lessons to suit different skill levels. These experiences have helped me develop patience, creativity, and strong communication skills, all of which I bring to every childcare role.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a very creative person, so arts and crafts are my go-to activities with children. I love incorporating their interests and passions into our projects, making each activity unique and exciting for them. Additionally, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring and playing, which provides a great opportunity for physical activity and adventure. Preparing and enjoying good snacks together is another favorite activity of mine, as it not only nourishes their bodies but also adds to the fun and bonding experience :) !!
