In high school and college I baby-sat, tutored and nannied.
After college, from [phone number hidden] I was a teacher for MPS and also Wauwatosa School District.
I also taught adult classes during the evenings.
I was a stay at home mom for four year. Then from [phone number hidden] I nannied for a boy until the mom lost her job due to Covid. Luckily he became close with not only me but my children as well, so he comes over often!
In [phone number hidden] I nannied for a daughter whose school was all virtual during that year.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Although I am 43, I will always be a kid at heart! I love outdoor activities, bike rides, swimming, hiking, walking, playing at the park, playing sports, arts and crafts, cool science projects, reading, boardgames and so on.
Pre-k-12 is my certification so teachable moments are always coming out! It's so rewarding when learning becomes fun. It's so exciting to see the growth, excitement and progress. It can be with infants, toddlers, adolescents and teens. Working with kids in both a school and nannying career is so rewarding and enjoyable. It is my passion.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is to always be attentive, keep their brains engaged, getting exercise with them and ending the day loving it and excited for the next.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a cousin and niece with special needs. During my teaching career I have had students with special needs.
In high school I was in a program working with special needs students. We taught them life skills such as riding the city bus, ordering food, counting their money to pay, tying their shoes and so much more to strive towards as much of an independent life as they could achieve.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Last summer I totally surprised her. We biked to the lake and would go swimming almost daily., She thought it was an ordinary day...until she asked why we were taking a new path home. With her being Irish, I knew there was an Irish band at Bayshore. When she heard the music, she looked at me and couldn't stop shrieking. She jumped of her bike and tore me off of mine. She gripped my hand bolting to the front stage. She grabbed my hands and started breaking out the Irish dance moves and was so good! I had no clue what I was doing! Well, I never really got it. I almost tripped her and kept apologizing for bumping into everyone. But she wouldn't let me stop because I always told her not to give up and keep trying, so that's what she used on me!
Her dad loved hearing about the day because he said he had been wanting to start getting her into Irish traditions and learn more about it himself to teach her. She showed him the dancing she immediately picked up. It's an awesome memory.

Hi! My name is Sophie. I am 20 years old and from Minneapolis, MN. I attend Marquette University and will be living on campus during the summer. I am a sophomore and study nursing. I am CPR certified and went to babysitting camp when I was younger where I was taught how to care for children. Currently, I am working on getting a car here by the summer so I will have access to a vehicle. I have spent my whole life around children. When I was younger, I took care of my younger cousins. I spent summer 2019 as a nanny and absolutely loved it. I am so excited to get to know you and your family and do what I can to make this summer easy on you. Overall, my aspiration one day is to be a mom. I love spending my time with children and can't wait to care for your family!!
