A little bit about me

Originally from Toronto, Canada, I am a Concordia University graduate with a major in Sociology and minor in Law. I also attained a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education from Holmesglen in Melbourne, Australia. I have a passion for working with children and have done so in one degree to another since I was a teenager. Roles I have filled include: homework tutor, babysitter, overnight camp counselor, nanny, educator in a daycare centre, as well as head of household. I have professional training working with children ages 5 months to 7 years and use the theories and practices of the Early Years Learning Framework.
I also have a passion for music being a flautist and choir singer, both from early ages and I like to incorporate music in my work with children. I also enjoy a variety of sports including swimming, volleyball, skiing, scuba diving and basketball.
I am fond of cooking different types of cuisine including: French, Italian, German and am always keen to try my hand at new dishes. I also have experience making baby food from scratch, as well as nutritional pureed soups.
I am a native English speaker, advanced intermediate French speaker and have a beginner knowledge of German. I have a clean driving record. I also have certified criminal background checks in both Australia and most recently Canada. I have recently completed the course Emergency First Response: Primary and Secondary Care.
My availability is Monday through Friday, full time.
