More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My own children, cousins that were more like nieces growing up do to the age difference. When I moved from DC, during the summers I visited my aunt (widow)- a 40 year veteran teacher, who had a 2 and 4 year old. I cooked, sewed, drew all her school pictures and murals, cleaned house, washed clothes, ironed, washed and did hair. I was a one-girl band while she worked at summer camp. I also have kept children of friends when needed for a day and extended periods. My house is on the corner in our subdivision, all the children hangout here in the yard. I provide them with water, juice and sometimes snacks. I talk to them about life and their school experiences. Sometimes some of them have come over and played games with my sons and we have cake, ice cream and lunch. All the parents know me and I have had couple events at my home to get to know them. I don't allow any child to be in my yard/home without meeting/knowing the parents and having their contact info.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
drawing, painting, reading, mental games, puzzles, play dough, board games, talking, educational games--age appropriate
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being engaged, aware and understanding what the child is not able to express on their own. Helping them to self-discover and not just tell them everything, but let them be amazed at their own brilliance. Helping the child understand their are frameworks for behavior, but fun is a good thing too. Being available for the highest highs and the lowest lows showing that care and concern that the child knows they are loved regardless and we will work through it.
My experience with special needs children...
helped during some substitute class opportunities
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have not formally held a nanny position, but I have helped to raise many children and my most favorite moment is always getting to know them as individuals and finding out what they like as well as introducing them to new experiences.

Live-In Part-Time Nanny Available in Atlanta, GA: Olivia H.
My name is Olivia Holden, and I am 21 years old. I have always had a passion for working with children, it’s what makes me the happiest. I have four years of professional childcare experience and have worked with a variety of age groups, providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to learn and grow. I am also the oldest of 7 children so nurturing, loving and teaching kids has always come very natural to me.After working in childcare for 4 years professionally overtime, I’ve realized that my passion is providing more individualized, one-on-one care. I also found that my director and I had different approaches when it came to teaching and caring for the children, which made me reflect on the type of environment where I can do my best work. That experience is what led me to want to purse nannying, and I’m excited about the opportunity to build a strong relationship with both the child and family.
