A little bit about me

My name is Crystal. I was born and raised right here in Middletown in the Port Monmouth area . I am a mom of 2 girls Ashley & Amber whom are now 19 (in college) and 13 (in 8th grade). My 13 year old is very into sports such as softball , basketball and field hockey . My 19 year old is in school for Early Childhood Development at Brookdale at the moment . I recently lost my job in October and am currently (for past 3 years) waiting for my divorce to be finalized so I can collect my allimony. So at this current time , I collect very little unemployment that barely gets me by and cost of living caused me to move home with my parents once again at 41 years old.i am very good with all children , any age and or with disabilities. My best friend has a son who is non verbal autistic, so I am used to different forms of disabilities. I love children, playing games and caring for them . Boy do I miss when mine were younger ! I can't get down to their level and teach them things along the way .

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at a daycare center in Union Beach for approximately 2 years before they closed down and changed ownership.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am super big into art , so I love drawing , coloring , painting etc . Depending on the age and abilities, craft making of all kinds is always a hit ! I grew up playing sports , so for the boys , I can also play basketball, baseball , football etc . For girls I can play softball as well as teach how to pitch and teach the game itself along with basketball as well. I can teach fast pitch or slow pitch softball . And for the younger ones , I am always down for a tea party , baby dolls , Barbies and board games and more .. I absolutely LOVE to teach them things and understand the right and wrong way to do things or WHY we do them (to an extent of course) my ex father in law was a teacher for 40 years so I learned a lot of classroom etiquette and fun experiments. I would have something planned to do special every day I would babysit . Even baking cookies and muffins sometimes ! Your home will always remain clean and everything will be put away so you can just come home to a happy home !

The most important part about being a nanny...

No matter what, your child's safety will always be first priority! They will be watched at all times and never left by themselves for any reason at all . Will always be in my sight and I will also teach them right from wrong if need be. I would also teach them a fire escape route as I belonged to a Fire company for many years .

My experience with special needs children...

Non verbal autistic, ADHD , handicapped, separation anxiety and I am sure there are many more .

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a fort out of couch cushions and blankets/pillows . Having a picnic of appropriate snacks , preferably made by us beforehand , underneath maybe while watching a movie. And as always , arts and crafts !
