More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Before the onset of the pandemic, I dedicated four years to working in Early Intervention at a school in Santa Clara. During this time, I collaborated with various families, caring for children aged from birth to three years old who had disabilities. My responsibilities encompassed facilitating classroom circle time activities and making home visits to support children in reaching their developmental milestones. I found fulfillment in working with infants and toddlers during those four years, forging strong bonds with the families I assisted.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Connecting with kids on their level is important to me. I am a big advocate for floor play, physical games and playing outside. I love being outside so I make time everyday to get outside with kids and explore their neighborhoods.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, as a nanny, it's incredibly important to approach a child and their family right where they are. I take pride in becoming an integral part of the family and being that dependable, calm person they can rely on.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a lot of experience working with children with special needs. My first job out of college was working as a para-educator substitute. There I was able to work with children who had a variety of special needs from all ages starting from pre K to high school. I also worked in an Early Intervention program for children (from birth to 3 years old) with special needs. This was one of my favorite jobs because I was able to work with families from different backgrounds and provide support to them and their babies. I also worked with a lot of the families for a span of 3 years and was able to watch their children grow and hit their developmental milestones.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would have to be seeing my Portland baby take his first steps. I worked with him from three months old so being able to see him grow everyday was something super special to me.

Hello Family,

My name is Silvia Seleny and as an early childhood educator, I bring genuine vocation, empathy, and a deep commitment to respectful parenting and children's holistic development. My goal is always to help each child reach their full potential across every stage of growth, from infancy to preschool.

Eighteen months ago, I moved to San Francisco, where I began volunteering at the SOMACC Center in Yerba Buena Gardens. There, I supported immigrant families and coordinated early stimulation activities for children from birth to five, creating experiences that fostered learning, connection, and healthy development.

I currently work part-time with two families, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. My responsibilities include planning and leading age-appropriate developmental activities, reading aloud, and organizing outings to parks, museums, and libraries. I support each child's cognitive, social, and emotional growth,
