A little bit about me

I love children! I’ve always been able to get along and communicate with them wonderfully. I have two little brothers that I have cared for, both having ADHD and one having autism. I also have three nieces that I help out with often. They are 3 years old, 21 months, and 1 month. I’m currently expecting my first babe! I know a lot about children and how to care for them and play with them. I’ve always wanted kids, so I enjoy reading about the developmental milestones, discipline, healthy eating, developmental play, teaching and the ways they learn, and much, much more. I would love to work with you in being such an important part of your child’s care and wellbeing, as well as allowing you the peace of mind that the person caring for your child truly cares for them and your family!

My experience with special needs children...

I am autistic myself (level 1), as are two of my siblings and my dad. I have done observational days in special education classrooms, and also observed my mother’s classes (she is currently working on her doctorate in special education and is a special education director). I’ve taken several classes over special education, and I have cared for my youngest sibling who is autistic level 2. I am extremely patient and understanding with all children, especially those with special needs. I am wonderful at following routines that a child may need and following written instructions left by parents about their child’s needs. I have babysat off and on since I was 11 years old, and have worked with many neurodivergent children, and they are honestly some of my favorite to work with!

I've worked at Saint Louis Christian Academy since August of last year to present. My duty as an infant teacher would consists of bootle feedings, diaper and outfit changing of course but I also taught the sweet babies many more things. Everyday we had story time and used flash cards in reference to our story. We also did a lot of tummy time! The babies especially loved what I liked to call a mini water bed! We worked on stacking things, walking and saying words together. I can honestly go on and on about what I did as an infant teacher at this school. I truly enjoying working with children and truly believe that they were put on this earth to bring and spread their love and joy.
