My baby sister turns 3 in August, and she means the world to me. Before I moved, she loved coming with me to get my nails done, run errands, and spend time with my friends. Experiences like that made me realize how much I genuinely love being around children and creating fun, meaningful memories with them.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts and crafts and encouraging children to express their creativity. Some of my favorite activities to do with kids are painting, playing with play dough, water play, taking walks, running errands, having lunch at the park, reading, singing, dancing, and more!

I think the most important part of being a nanny is making children feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Kids deserve someone who is patient, caring, and genuinely wants to be part of their everyday life. I also think it’s really important to build trust with the parents through good communication and consistency, so everyone feels supported and comfortable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One funny memory from nannying was when I was playing with kinetic sand with a 3-year-old girl I cared for. Her mom was working from home in the other room, and out of nowhere she walked over and calmly said, “Mom, there’s a spider behind me and Ms. Dakota. You have to kill it.” She hadn’t mentioned a spider at all before that, so I turned around confused and suddenly saw it running toward me! We all started laughing so hard, it was such a cute and funny moment.
