A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Dalene. I’m 50 years old and a mom of 5, ages 15-26. I have a little hobby farm on 5 acres. As my kiddos leave the house I’m feeling lonely and quiet board. Looking for a part-time job loving on some babies!! I am a very active mom. I go to church regularly, love to cook healthy and clean, love to paddle board, ride bikes along the green belt, go to concerts but mainly cook and host for my family. I used to live in Encinitas, CA and moved to Boise 7 years ago. My kids were beach kids, now they are always near the rivers and lakes fishing, paddle boarding, going out on our boat, hunting in the fall and snowboarding in the winter months. Like I said, we are a very active family, so that means I would love to be active with your kiddos, go to the library, children’s museums, take them to my little farm (I have goats, a 2 ft tall Bay Dwarf Horse) lots of chickens, a duck, dogs cats and a snake (Fat Amy). My little horse David cruises around in my Subaru Outback.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a nanny a couple of times back in Encinitas for college money for my kids. I also volunteered many hours at my kids schools, church camps and drove and chaperoned many school field trips.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Library, museums, farmers markets, parks, Boise River, bike rides, swimming, anything you’d like for your kiddos, I’m all in. I’m very outgoing and love getting out.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To love, nurture and make sure the babies, children feel safe and secure. I will listen and hear them. We will problem solve together if they are struggling in a moment. I love to sing and dance. I love feeding them good, clean healthy food. I love to cook and create nutritious food for their growing bodies. I love reading books and doing art work with them. We will have lots of fun together. I have a great love for children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat autistic kids. I have worked with special needs kids in the classrooms when I would volunteer. I have a couple of autistic adult friends that I talk with often and go to coffee or lunch with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was watching an infant, Waylon, back in 2016. My oldest son went off to college and my heart was breaking. I had to carry on for my other four but a piece of my heart was missing and aching. I thought nannying part-time, especially a baby would help distract that feeling. I was very blessed to bring Waylon into our world. The family knew the love and life we lived and were all about it. I took him to the beach, waterpolo games, rugby games and all around our community. When the kids got home they all spoiled, loved, played and doted on Way. When we moved to Boise, my nanny job came to an end. I cried for weeks. I was blessed to love Way and spend the first couple of years of his life with him. I still keep in touch with his family and watch him grow to be an outstanding little boy.
