In the past, I often took on the role of babysitting for family and friends, helping with tasks like cleaning, making snacks, and assisting with homework. I enjoyed nurturing and building lasting bonds with the children I cared for. Additionally, during my time working at Build-a-Bear Workshop, one of the highlights was bringing joy to children and earning the trust of shy or scared kids, which gave me a deep sense of fulfillment.

I have always had a love for crafting and DIY! I feel like it not only encourages creativity, but also allows for a kid to just be a kid and have fun! I think it’s amazing when the only limits you can have are your own imagination.

I believe patience is one of the most important qualities to have. Allowing our frustrations to take over not only sets a bad example but can also reinforce negative behaviors. Patience is an act of self control and encouraging habits such as these will encourage critical thinking and personal growth.

My favorite moment was when I helped a young girl who was struggling to understand her math homework. After patiently explaining the concept to her, I watched her go from frustration to a genuine sense of happiness and accomplishment when the material finally clicked. Her big smile and excitement to show off her newfound skills was incredibly rewarding!
