Hi,
My name is Damaris Soto, currently a student with Year Up United, working towards an internship in Business Operations. While obtaining this internship, I want to continue building my experience in childcare, as my goals is to implement my skills for future generations. I am the eldest of 15, so I had quite a learning experience when it comes to understanding that all kids are different. I am looking to assist families around the neighborhood and surrounding areas, while continuously developing my knowledge with Year Up United. Long term, I am looking to invest in mentorship programs to encourage the youth to build their dreams off of discipline, consistency, and truth within their journeys. Initially, that starts with holding myself accountable and building those skills and key points to be the best version of me that I can be for my younger siblings and upcoming generations of children!

I was attending to kids at a few summer camps throughout the summer. In 2018, I was employed with Boston Community Youth & Families, working with Super Teens. In 2019, I was employed with IBA, Inquilinos Boricuas en Accion during the summer. Finally in 2023, I spent some time at Urban College in Downtown, Boston learning about early childcare, childcare development, and trained on how to assist families during development years. My time at these companies helped me understand the 'Why' behind the desire of building a foundation for future generations. Currently, my experience is revolving around business and sales, however, my overall goals is to transfer those skillsets into the childcare systems and education systems.
