I was soon recommended to work with a 4-year-old girl full time during Covid while also attending high school full time. I then became a summer camp teacher for 30+ kids ages 4–18, including supervising swim time. When school resumed, I worked in an afterschool program—picking kids up, helping with homework, preparing food, and keeping order. After a year, I switched to a restaurant job and also cared for a 5-month-old during date nights and overnights. In college, I worked with two elementary-aged kids during fall semester, then full-time over the summer with a non-verbal 3-year-old boy and his 1-year-old sister. Sophomore year, I began working with a 3-year-old girl and her 4-year-old sister—my current job into junior year.
