A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Dani, I am 22 years old, & I grew up on the Oregon coast! I have loved working with kids my entire life, I recently graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, & a Minor in ASL. I have many different experiences working with children of all ages. I have babysat for most of my life, worked at summer school at my hometown elementary school, done weekend kids camps, worked at two daycares (one in home, one in a facility), & I student taught at Oakdale Heights Elementary School for a year in a 2nd/3rd grade classroom! I have my certified teaching license, along with other trainings required by Oregon to work in a daycare.

A little bit about me personally:
I love cats, I have one of my own. I enjoy anything outdoors, but especially camping & swimming. I like to read, do any arts & crafts, watch shows/movies (I'm a big horror & comedy fan), & I love spending time with my friends & family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked at summer school in a kindergarten classroom one year, & in a 3rd grade classroom another year. I have also babysat kids of all ages, I babysat my cousin from 6 months to 3 years old. I have worked at Corporate Kids events, which is a weekend day camp for kids of all ages. I have also worked in two different daycare settings, one in home, & one in a facility. I also student taught in a 2nd/3rd grade classroom for a year!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Any kinds of arts & crafts! In my own free time I spend the majority of it painting, coloring, scarp booking, making cards, & any other craft I can get my hands on. I also love to read books with children, I am an avid reader myself. Outside time is also very important to me, going for walks or playing at the park is something I try to do daily!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is making sure the children are cared for & safe, & building a positive relationship with the kids! My goal is to have every child feel safe & comfortable when they are with me, & to have lots of fun also.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much one on one experience with special needs children . I student taught in a 2nd/3rd grade classroom with a few students who were special needs, but they were not always in the classroom the majority of the day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love watching them grow & develop. I had the honor of babysitting my cousin from 6 months to 3 years, & watching her progress overtime made me so happy! Seeing the little things click in their brains when they learn a new skill is so exciting, & one of my favorite parts of nannying!
