Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Have worked as a lead instructor at a summer camp where I was in charge of up to 28 students ranging from 4-6 years old. I directly facilitated a project based curriculum, integrating science, math, technology, and engineering.
I am also currently completing an internship at a daycare, where I am supporting the teacher with students ranging from 2-4 years old. I help students get ready for nap time, clean up after their meals and playtime, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy activities with children both indoors and outdoors. In both jobs I’ve worked, I have been able to facilitate and teach children games and really enjoy the process of teaching them. A recent activity I really enjoyed was teaching children how to make lanyard keychains. I found it the perfect activity because of how challenging it is in the beginning, to then seeing the confidence they gain when they’re able to do it on their own
The most important part about being a nanny...
You’re best supporting them while the parents/guardians are away. This means physically, emotionally, mentally; the whole child.
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have much if any experience with special needs children. I have been able to observe how a specialist works with a child of autism 1:1, but other than playing with them I don't believe I have the necessary knowledge and skills to best support them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’ve never been a nanny, but I do have a memory with a previous children I’ve worked with. I had taught a group of children about paper fortune tellers, so for about a week straight I had been tasked with making around 10 fortune tellers a day because they were completely obsessed. From the many fortunes I received, my favorite was that in my near future I would fall down a hole and discover a civilization run by dogs and lizards.
