Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I started volunteering in the 6th grade during summer at my old in home preschool. When I was in high school I joined an academy called TLC (teaching and learning careers) and stayed in it all 4 years, thinking I wanted to pursue a career working with children. In this academy I was able to intern every week in a kindergarten class and I enjoyed it every time I went. After high school I worked at an after school program called Twin Tigers academy of self defense, pretty much just watching kids after school, helping them with homework and entertaining them until they got picked up to go home. I went to beauty school after that, got my cosmetologist license, worked for 2 years at a salon. I now have a baby of my own and am a stay at home mom but need some income now. So I thought I’d try Nanny Lane.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Doing all kinds of crafts is super fun to do with children, working in a kindergarten class got me really into that but I outside is my favorite place to be. I think it’s very important for children to play outside like I did when I was a child and sadly I don’t see that much anymore. I’m hoping that my generation can start to bring that back.
My experience with special needs children...
During my internship in high school I worked with special needs children for a month straight. I wish I would have done a lot more, but sadly that’s the only experience that I have with special needs children.
