A little bit about me

Hello! I am the mom of a recently graduated 19 yo -special needs- daughter and 15 yo son. I've been a SAHM for 15 years. Now that my children are older and more independent of me, I'd like to help another family with their care needs. ❤️

Over the years, I have worked with many disabilities, including those that are physical. However, not in a professional or paid capacity. This includes cerebral palsy with hearing impairment, feeding tube, and varying physical limitations. I am also able to work with autism, and other disabilities. I am familiar with physical and occupational therapies and am able to follow given therapy instruction, if needed, while in my care.

Aside from the special needs aspects, I am great with all children and senior citizens, including hospice care. I am a rock solid support person to a family that needs me.

Ideally, I'd prefer to work with a family, long term. Time is important and it must be purposeful and fulfilling!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Before I had my own children, I worked for the YMCA. They offer many programs for children. I worked within the programs directly with the children as a teacher, monitor/chaperone/activity lead- i.e summer camps, dances, private lessons, play time, discovery time. After I had my children, I volunteered throughout the years with YPS activities such as field trips, class parties, book fairs... the fun stuff.
Additionally, I have been "babysitting" here and there for family or friends since I was 10!

I love to do what they want to do!
We can chase, jump and fall, read or learn to read and count, treasure hunt, play at the par go for a walk or stroller stroll, do crafts, color, paint, learn something new, swim, build a tent. Just about anything! I have a fun activity book with over 1000 creative, fun things to do children of all ages!
