A little bit about me

I am a retired teacher. I worked with children including my nieces and nephews. I taught regular and special education. I worked with preschool age to middle school age children. After I retired I did substitute teach for 4 or 5 years. I believe in structure and helping children learn. I am not a push over and am willing to do whatever the parent wants done. I will follow thru with the parent wishes.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was an aide for several years at Dodgeville elementary and high school level. I went and received my Bachelors degree at UW Platteville in education. I also received my LD/ED Certification in special education at Edgewoid College. While in school I watched and cared for a small special needs child. I was also a substitute teacher for many years mainly in the River Valley school District at all grade levels.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading to young children, helping children with homework, going places, like swimming, going to the park, zoo or whatever the child or children want to do.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is being their when the patents need you to care for their child, nurturing and loving them. You want to build a trusting relationship with the parents and child/children. Building that bond is important. The parents need to know they have a person they trust caring for their children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children as an aide, and as a child caretaker. I have my LD /ED Certification. I was an elementary and middle school special education teacher.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was going swimming in Spring Green at the bouncy water park, going to the park and just spending time talking and listening to the child. Talking and listening is a way to get to know the child. It is a way to build a trusting relationship with the child. The same is true for their parents.
