I believe the most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with both the child and the family. Parents are relying on me to care for their child in a way that reflects their values and routines, and children need to feel safe, understood, and supported in order to thrive. That trust lays the foundation for everything else.

My experience with special needs children...

I have hands-on experience working as a teacher's aide in a daycare and preschool setting with children ages 2-5 who have special needs. I’ve supported children with autism, ADHD, hearing loss, and nonverbal communication challenges. My responsibilities included using sign language to support communication, assisting with potty training, and creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities tailored to each child's needs. I focus on patience, consistency, and creating a nurturing environment that helps every child feel understood and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was getting to see a little one take her very first steps. Her parents and I had been working so hard to help her get there. Lots of cheering, practice, and a fair share of fake-outs from her. She had this funny way of making it look like she was about to walk, then would just drop back down with a smile.
But one day, out of nowhere while I was watching her, she stood up using the coffee table and actually started walking right toward me. I was totally caught off guard in the best way. It was such a sweet and exciting moment, and I felt so lucky to be the one there to see it happen.
